So I finally got around to trying the Shea Moisture Tahitian Noni & Monoi Smooth & Repair Line. This is one of the newest lines that Shea Moisture has introduced. As usual I will do my short review of each product I tried, however overall I was not a fan of this line, it did do what it was designed to do, as my hair did feel moisturized after I used all the products. I think the Keratin in the products did play its role in helping to reduce frizz. Despite these factors, I do not see any of these products making it as a staple product for me.
Texture – It is thick.
Fragrance – Smell is terrible, I did not like it at all.
Suds – Minimal, does not foam up as the Curl & Shine.

Will I buy it? – No, I will not.
How I used it – I wet my hair and applied it to my sectioned hair, massaging my scalp and rubbing it through my hair.
It cleanse very well, it did not strip my hair, but left it feeling clean.
Nourishing Hair Masque
Texture – It is very thick and creamy.
Fragrance – It contain some of the same ingredients as the shampoo so it basically has the same smell that I did not like. However I believe it does have some of the same ingredients as the Yucca and Baobab masque and it did remind me of that as well, that fragrance balance off the smell that I did not like, making the overall fragrance much more tolerable than the shampoo.
Slip – Slip is good, as I finger detangled with it.

Will I buy it? – No, I will not.
How I used it – After I shampooed my hair, I apply a generous amount to my sectioned hair, then I sit under a steamer for 30 mins.
This masque helps in putting back moisture in your hair, controlling frizz, strengthens and smooth hair cuticles. It leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and moisturized.
Rinse Out Conditioner
Texture – Not as thick as the Yucca and Baobab Volumizing Conditioner but still was thick, it is light weighted.
Fragrance – Same smell as the shampoo.
Slip – There was some slip but I found that the Masque had more slip. Prefer detangling with masque than conditioner

Will I buy it? – No, I will not.
How I used it – After I rinsed out the nourishing hair masque, I applied it to my hair, slighted finger detangle with it as I massaged it into the hair.
This product clearly states to rinse out of hair, so I could not use it as a leave in. It left the hair smooth, soft and moisturized.
This is an oil, and basically it operates as an oil. It has slip and added shine to the hair. It didn’t have a strong fragrance, so the smell was normal. It did help in controlling frizz. I don’t mind purchasing this glosser but probably may not since I have oils that I use and love. I applied this to my hair after I applied a leave in conditioner.

I just purchased the shampoo for my sister since she uses heat…but I will not use this line on myself. I don’t like the smell (has to smell nice) and I didn’t like the ingredients line up. I used to use raw retention…and curl and shine is a no no for me. DIY all the way lol Thanks for sharing
Yes that smell is so off, I actually like the curl & shine though, I want to do DIY but haven’t gotten around to it just yet, but will surely share when I do. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts as well … 🙂
